Chairs
BODYFURN® chairs come in 6 sizes which are provided according to the needs of the classrooms being supplied, considering the school's ethnic mix, gender mix and year levels.

All essential practical requirements have been provided for such as strength, stability, stackability (6 high), ability to sit well on desks for floor cleaning, durability (tested through 200,000 seating cycles), easily cleaned, specially formulated nylon tips that reduce noise, and well ventilated seat and back.

Ergonomic requirements previously understood but never properly or fully applied include being comfortable, molded to fit the body, correct heights (as defined by the proposed Australia NZ Standard), dynamic, with back and seat moving independently (a world first, we believe), and designed specifically for the tasks of the classroom.

Storage Systems
One finding of Furnware's research is that under-desk storage should be a thing of the past. The height relationship between desk and chair is critical for correct seating, and the depth used for storage interferes with that.

So Furnware explored alternative systems. Many schools use them already, so that was helpful. By examining practices in numerous classrooms we have brought together the best ideas.

The result is a range of options to complement various teaching styles whilst improving the learning environment for students. Some come at no cost, others enhance existing spaces in the room. Increased surface areas (always needed!) and added security without demanding more space are real features. And being modular, the systems provide flexibility, even where the teacher likes to change the classroom configuration on a regular basis.
