Hamish purchased Furnware in 1993 and has worked hard over the preceeding 18 years to grow Furnware into one of the most exciting growth companies in New Zealand.

Like everyone at Furnware he is 100% focused on making sure as many children or students as possible leave their educational careers feeling fulfilled and empowered from the experience. Although furniture is one cog in the machinery, Hamish believes it is an important one as arguably it is the "foundation" to the majority of experiences a student has at school.

"Furnware is successful because of a modern and possibly unique grasp of marketing fundamentals - we concentrate on developing products that work and that don't require marketing spin to sell them.  Our customers are our marketing machine, when they purchase our products they make a choice to tell other people about them. We work hard to make sure that choice is an easy one by researching and designing products that add significant value over and above the purchase price. To achieve this goal we have to have people through-out the business who share the common goal of improving educational outcomes. We have worked hard to make sure we have a lot of these kinds of people."
